As the physicians working in this virtual urgent care clinic are also Emergency physicians, they can help with connecting you to needed care at Lakeridge Health hospitals.
If you do not have access to the technology required for a virtual visit, it is safe to visit the Emergency Department or Urgent Care Centre in person. Click here for the locations of the four Lakeridge Health Emergency Departments. You can also select a telephone consultation on the intake form and a physician will call you at the phone number you provide.
• Locate yourself in an area that is private, quiet, well-lit and distraction free.
• Close windows and blinds/curtains prior to beginning visit to ensure privacy.
• Wear clothing that makes it easy to show the physician the body part that is relevant for examination
• Close non-essential apps and software. This will decrease the lag and likelihood of crashes.
• Inform the physician if you are having any difficulty hearing or seeing them throughout the visit.
Yes, with the patient’s permission you can assist them with completing the intake process and participate in their assessment in the same way you would for an in-person assessment.
• Virtual urgent care visits are provided through a secure Microsoft Teams application, Corolar Virtual Care.
• Both email and virtual urgent care visit appointments have some inherent privacy and security risks that include your personal health information possibly being intercepted or unintentionally disclosed.
• By providing us with your email address, you give Lakeridge Health consent to send your virtual urgent care visit appointment confirmation to your email address.
• To improve your privacy, and avoid the possibility of others being able to access your personal health information:
• Do not not use a shared email
• Participate in Virtual Visit appointments in a private setting
• Do not use a shared computer/device.
